The tradition of the challenge coin began with US Military units. The popularity has spread to Law Enforcement, EMS, and now private sector companies. It is a great way to recognize exceptional performance as well as enhancing esprit de corps. We are proud of our original challenge coin (GPS) and happy to introduce the new Global Protective Services Hawaii challenge coin!
The front side of our coin displays the GPS Hawaii logo: the globe with a sword, and shield along with the Hawaiian islands. Our motto “Leaders in Security” is prominently displayed along the top edge. The rockers for “Private Security” and “Hawaii” are affixed along the bottom of the logo.
The back side of our coin displays the Hawaii state flag as the background. The GPS Hawaii values of “Courage, Honor, Discipline, and Trust” are boldly displayed. Along the outer ring, the GPS Mission statement: “Providing quality service to the people of the state of Hawaii while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and displaying the Aloha spirit. Imua GPS!”
At GPS we use these coins as a way of recognizing outstanding employees. We will be implementing an Employee of the Quarter, and he or she will receive a challenge coin. Employees can also be recognized by management for exceptional performance with an “on the spot” award of a challenge coin.
We are currently running our first Facebook Page contest for a chance to win one of three GPS Challenge coins we will be giving away on January 26th. Make sure you head to the GPS Facebook Page and click Like and sign up for the contest!
As we continue to grow the GPS Hawaii facebook page, we will also be having a contest to give away a challenge coin here as well. Thank you for your support!
